Psychology (MHTP / Medicare)
Mental Health Care Plan via GP referral
Service Description
Psychological services are available under GP referral and a Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP), offering support for individuals only, facing mental health challenges. The fee per session is $220 upfront, but with the Medicare rebate, the out-of-pocket cost is aproximately $124.00 after you claim the rebate. Please note there is no Medicare rebate available for couples counselling. Through a GP referral, individuals gain access to psychological services with Medicare rebates, making therapy more affordable. A Mental Health Treatment Plan outlines specific goals and focuses on treating concerns such as anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, and other mental health issues. Couples and families can also address relationship dynamics, communication breakdowns, and conflicts in a supportive setting, with the aim of strengthening relationships and improving overall functioning. Each session is tailored to the individual’s needs, ensuring that treatment is aligned with their unique mental health goals. With the guidance of a GP and psychologist, clients are empowered to address challenges, develop coping strategies, and work toward lasting emotional well-being. The combination of professional oversight and tailored psychological care allows clients to navigate their mental health journey with structure and support, promoting positive outcomes and resilience. The focus remains on providing effective, confidential care that adheres to the treatment plan, maximizing the benefits of psychological intervention.
